Welcome to the Cascabel Community

Well here we are, the 21st century...A big thanks to Jacquie for setting up this forum for our VFD. I'm looking forward to getting lots of comments and ideas from the community on how we can make our VFD more user friendly and accessible. Tonight 11 members gathered for a meeting about the VFD's training plan, and it was agreed to modify our monthly training schedule to the 2nd Saturday each month from 0900 to 1500 with a pot luck lunch. The morning will consist of some hands on field/apparatus training, and in the afternoon something classroom oriented. February 9th will be the next training day and Steve will be facilitating the session, at the Heaven Sent Ranch. Watch for email reminders before then...

I am looking forward to the training next month. Let me know if Steve would like me to spend a couple of hours going over GPS/map stuff.

Howdy all, I was hoping this forum would be used and create some communication for us, I guess folks aren't use to it yet... Anyway I'll use it...We had a great day on Saturday March 8th. We had 13 members attempt the Work Capacity Test with 7 passing it. We'll schedule another whenever the other members are ready. Then 11 members attended the Annual Fireline Refresher. We now have 5 folks red carded as firefighters and 2 red carded for support.
Mark April 12th on your calenders, that's our next scheduled monthly training. I would like it if all of our members could attend, active or not...We really need to discuss some organizational issues to make our response to incidents more efficient. Training and fund raising topics also will be on the agenda.
Please try to make it. Thanks
